HWC once printed a paper cookbook, but times have changed. We're putting these recipes online now for easy access. Please enjoy some of our favorite recipes from the HWC cookbook and from our families. 

Buffalo Chicken Dip

​Servings: about 4 cups dip

Cook Time: 20

 

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 (8 oz.) package PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
    (can substitute neufchatel cheese for lower calories)

  • 1/2 cup FRANK'S® RedHot® Original Cayenne Pepper Sauce
    (or FRANK'S® RedHot® Buffalo Wings Sauce)

  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing
    (or Bleu cheese dressing)

  • 2 cans SWANSON® White Premium Chunk Chicken Breast in Water, drained.

(or 2 cups shredded cooked chicken)

  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (I use Mexican blend)
    (or can use crumbled bleu cheese)

 

DIRECTIONS:

PREHEAT oven to 350°F.

COMBINE all ingredients in a 1-quart baking dish.

BAKE 20 min. or until mixture is heated through; stir.
Serve with tortilla chips, crackers, and/or vegetables.

Stuffed Mushrooms

Ingredients:

2 cloves garlic, chopped

½ c. seasoned breadcrumbs

8 oz sausage (ground)

¼ c. fresh parsley

½ c. parmesan cheese

32 stuffing mushrooms

¼ c. butter, melted

Sauté garlic and sausage together. Drain and place in a metal bowl. Add cheese, melted butter, breadcrumbs and parsley. Stuff the mushroom caps and bake at 375° for about 10 minutes.

Raisin Oatmeal Cookies

Ingredients:

1 cup raisins

1/2 cup shortening

1 cup sugar

2 eggs

1/4 cup milk

1 2/3 cups oatmeal (rolled oats)

1 1/2 cups flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon cinnamon

 

Wash raisins in hot water and drain. Cream shortening with sugar; then add beaten eggs and milk. Combine with oatmeal, raisins, and mix well. Add flour sifted with baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Beat thoroughly.

Drop onto greased pans and bake about 12 minutes at 350 degrees F.

 

Makes about 3 dozen medium-sized cookies.
